Tidal Creeks Boatworks, a subsidiary of Tidal Creeks Corporation, was founded in February 2007, by Nantucket Island native Michael Allen. A native of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Mike's boatbuilding experience dates back to 1986 while he was serving in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida, Mike would often visit his father who had been spending time pursuing his hobby job with a local Naples boat builder, Michael Fitz Custom Boats.

In 1990, Mike started Mike's Fiberglass Repair on Nantucket, which evolved into Grey Lady Marine in 1994, where Mike designed, created molds, manufactured, marketed and sold fifteen Grey Lady 25' custom center console boats. With the boat business growing rapidly, Mike bought out local comeptitor Island Marine in 1998, and moved Grey Lady Marine to the waterfront, which became Nantucket's largest full-service marine facility. At his new location on Nantucket Harbor, Mike continued to own and operate Grey Lady Marine ye
ar-round with a clientele of over 350 privately owned boats which were stored, maintained and serviced annually.

In 2003, Mike sold Grey Lady Marine to Great Harbor Yacht Club, where he managed the business as a consultant until 2006. The following year, Mike built a state-of-the-art boat building facility located at Square Rigger Road, where he now operates Tidal Creeks Boatworks.
